Max LeHew
Max LeHew
Max LeHew (AKA Max-imus, Max-a-million) of Boone, Iowa passed away on March 21, 2025, 18 days short of his eighteenth birthday.
Max was born on a farm near Prescott, Iowa on April 8, 2007, and was adopted into the LeHew family on July 30, 2007.
Empathetic, intuitive, and a connoisseur of snacks, Max enjoyed sunbathing, lounging on his cat tree, rolling in the grass, and catloafing with the best of them. If the heater was on, he was easy to find.
Though an inside cat, Max was always curious about the outdoors. He once exited the family home through an open window without a screen. While it’s unknown how long he was out, he was loyally waiting just outside the back door for reentry when his mom discovered his absence and came looking for him.
A master cuddler, Max loved to nudge his face on to his mom’s forehead and eventually fall asleep with his forehead nestled under her chin. Max was always protective of her—especially during pregnancies—but Number One Mama’s Boy Max couldn’t resist running into the kitchen to mess up his mom’s rugs.
Max is survived by parents Charlene and Justin LeHew; sisters Raya LeHew and Luna LeHew; and fur sister Sookie LeHew, all of Boone, Iowa.
